Media Create has released the Japanese sales charts for the first six months of this year. Square's PlayStation 2 action RPG, Kingdom Hearts, managed to capture the third spot with a total of 780,000 copies sold. Banpresto's Super Robot Taisen Alpha for PS2 came in 4th (620,000 copies) while Monolith's Xenosaga Episode 1: Der Wille zur Macht clinched the eighth spot by selling 420,000 copies.Compared to the previous year, software sales have risen by 18%, while hardware sales are up 10%. The ten best selling games include nine games for PS2 and one for its predeccessor, the PSOne.
