Square has announced a new PS2 RPG, Hanjuku Hero Tai 3D (Half-Boiled Hero VS 3D). This new installement in Square's humorous series will have a theme of "the battle of 2D versus 3D". The main characters will be in 2D, and fighting an army of 3D characters! The monsters will have very varied designs ; additionally, Square, Weekly Jump and V Jump are launching a campaign to gather monster designs from fans. The selected designs will appear in the final game and the authors will receive prizes (more details can be found in Weekly Jump).
The Hanjuku Hero series started on the Famicom in '88 ; a second game followed on the Super Famicom in 1992 and was remade on the WonderSwan Color ten years later. Hanjuku Hero Tai 3D has no announced release date, and there is little chance it will cross the ocean.
