TGS - Xbox Live To Take Off in January 2003

Microsoft has outlined its schedule for Xbox Live in Japan at TGS. The company plans to launch its online service on January 16th 2003. The Starter Kit, which players need to purchase in order to play online games on their Xbox will come with the Voice Communicator, a one-year suscription and a Xbox version of Phantasy Star Online Episode I and II. Previously, it was expected that Sega would only bring the first version of Phantasy Star Online to Microsoft's console, while Episode I and II appeared to be GameCube-exclusive. The game's Xbox version will support an USB keyboard and a voice chat feature.

The Xbox Live Starter Kit will be available for 6,800yen (55.99USD) in Japan.
