It was revealed earlier today that Squaresoft and Enix have announced plans to merge operations. The decision was made in an attempt to combine resources and technology, as well as hopefully turn higher profits. One share of Square stock will be exchanged for 0.81 share of stock in Enix.The merger should be completed by April of next year. Current Square president Yoichi Wada will remain president of the new company, which will be known as Square Enix Inc. Any other changes in operation, or any effect the merger will have on future games or franchises, are all unknown at this point.
