Sony Online Entertainment will deploy a new server named Maelin Starpyre which, for the first time, will allow for full character transfers from an existing server in response to EverQuest's rising popularity. Recently, the number of users playing the game simultaneously peaked at 118,000 and the number of current active subscribers has exceeded 430,000.Last month the company launched its first console title, EverQuest Online Adventures, for the PlayStation 2.
