Atlus and Takara Announce Business Partnership
Atlus and Takara have announced that they have joined forces. As part of the agreement, a 30.2% stake in Atlus will be assigned to Takara. Atlus chairman Naoya Harano and president Matsuo Iwata will become members of Takara's board of directors, while Takara president Keita Satou will from now on sit on Atlus' board of directors. Takara vice president Nobuyuki Okude has been appointed as new president of Atlus. The agreement still has to be approved by both companies' shareholders. Atlus' cooperation with Kadokawa Shoten and Takara's close relations with Konami (Konami owns a 20% stake in Takara) won't be affected by today's announcement.
