Yu-Gi-Oh Series Reached Sales of 5.9 Million Last Year

Konami Computer Entertainment Japan has announced that it will pay higher dividends to its shareholders as a result of a strong performance throughout the fiscal year ending on March 31st 2003. Instead of 60 yen (0.50USD), shareholders will now receive 74 yen (0.62USD) per share. As far as the key numbers are concerned, the company posted an ordinary profit of 3.556 billion yen (29.57 million USD) and sales of 7.2 billion yen (59.88 million USD). Responsible for these better than expected financial results were worldwide sales of the Yu-Gi-Oh series, topping 5.9 million units. Worldwide, Konami Computer Entertainment has sold more than 20 million units of software for the second consecutive year.
