Konami Announces New PS2 Adventure Title
04.26.03 - 12:12 AM

Konami has announced a new PlayStation 2 horror adventure game titled Kyoufu Shimbun Heiseiban Kaiki! Shinrei File. The game is based on the movie Kyofu Shimbun, which centers around a newspaper of the same name reporting on deaths happening in the future and reducing its readers' life to 100 days. Its protagonist is a senior high school student attending Ishidou High School. On one evening the protagonist is incapable of going to bed and in the middle of the night and hears a voice shouting "newspaper". All of a sudden, a ghost calling himself a poltergeist appears and tells the protagonist about the "features" of the mysterious newspaper. After reading the paper the next day, teachers and fellow students of our hero are brutally killed one after the other. The player's obvious objective in the game is to put an end to this insanity.

Kyoufu Shimbun Heiseiban Kaiki! Shinrei File will be available in Japan sometime in August for 6,800 yen (56.69USD).
