Microsoft has announced a new MMORPG titled Mythica for the PC platform. Based on Norse mythology, the game lets the player assume the role of a fallen hero who now seeks to become a god. In order to personalize the user's experience, while at the same time promote the social aspects of online gaming, the development has introduced a system named "private realm technology". While being in such a private realm, players can focus on the storylines and interact with the environment. Each private realm is themed after a plane in Norse Mythology, such as the eternal spring of Asgard or the heart of Muspellheim. On these planes, players can engage monsters or mythic creatures such as the Midgard Serpent. In public spaces they can form groups and roam through vastly populated areas.Mythica will be shown at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles next month and should be available sometime next year.
