Ragnarok Online Attacked By Hackers
06.24.03 - 3:22 PM

According to GameSpot (and several players), Gravity's MMORPG Ragnarok Online was hacked twice on June 20th and 21st. The company reacted to the first hack on June 20th by rolling back the game's data a day and compensating users with additional experience points and items. The next day the problem got worse, as hackers managed to gain access to a list containing sensitive user information such as ID names and passwords. Hence any player could gain access to any user account, which caused even greater trouble. Gravity quickly sent out account certification emails to users, but the servers are still down and it is unknown when they will go up again.
