Following today's surprise announcement that Yasunori Mitsuda will not be in charge of composing the soundtrack for Monolith Soft's Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Boese (Beyond Good and Evil), the composer confirmed that he will be working on another PlayStation 2 RPG, Nautilus' Shadow Hearts II. While his friend Yoshitaka Hirota will be the game's main composer, Mitsuda himself will also compose some tracks for the sequel to the 2001 sleeper hit Shadow Hearts.Since he had previously scored both Xenogears and Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille Zur Macht, Mitsuda was generally regarded as the logical choice of composer for Xenosaga Episode II as well.
