Square Enix's Toshirou Tsuchida finally broke the silence surrounding his brainchild series, Front Mission today. On the official Front Mission site, he explained that in the four years that have passed since the release of Front Mission 3 for PlayStation, the members of the sixth production team had been working on various titles and only last year the actual team, re-inforced with newly hired staffers, got together again and re-entered the development process. While Tsuchida was vague in his comments, he said his team's aim is to develop various types of games based on the world of Front Mission. He also mentioned that while we could not go into details just now, he would soon come forward with an announcement.
For reference, earlier this year Square Enix registered the trademark Front Mission History at the Japan Patent Office. Despite being mainly involved in the Front Mission series, Toshirou Tsuchida also acted as battle director of Final Fantasy X.
