Atlus Announces Kowloon Youma Gakuen Ki
08.27.03 - 8:56 PM

Atlus is currently working on a new PlayStation 2 title named Kowloon Youma Gakuen Ki (Chronicle of the Kowloon Ghost School). The game looks like an adventure/ first-person simulation RPG hybrid.

Despite the title, it will take place in Shinjuku, Tokyo's Kamiyoshi high school in the year 2004. The protagonist is an exchange student, who doubles as a treasure hunter. After he hears of an ancient treasure resting well hidden in the deepest areas of a ruin buried underneath the school building, there is nothing that can hold the young man back. He eventually discovers the entrance to the underground labyrinth on a graveyard located in one corner of the school's campus and the adventure begins. Other characters include the protagonist's classmate Koutarou Minakami, who loves to smoke cigarettes with lavender flavor and Asuka Yachiho. Next is Teito Amon, who is constantly observing our hero. Last but not least, there is Kasuka Shiraki. She knows the school's secrets and often gives the protagonist hints.

Kowloon Youma Gakuen Ki will feature voice acting during event scenes and live action photographs to display the school environment, weapons and tools as realistically as possible. The tactical battles will be fought with modern weaponry as well as tools acquired on campus.

Kowloon Youma Gakuen Ki will be available in Japan somtime next year.
