09.06.03 - 3:49 AM

Atlus's latest PlayStation 2 strategy-RPG, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, was received with quite a bit of anticipation in the gaming world. Even before its release in late August, many fans of the genre were anxious to get their hands on what many were calling the "most innovative SRPG ever". And while that title is a difficult one to live up to, many who have played Disgaea are still saying that it is a title well-deserved.

But is the game really worthy of all this praise, or are the players be drawn into an illusion created by the hordes of fans who rave about it? Editor Christopher Holzworth takes a look at the so-called Epic SRPG to see if there is any truth behind the statements made by the legions of fans. In a look at the game that is both unbiased and informative, Chris attempts to discover whether or not Disgaea really is the most innovative SRPG ever, or if the game is merely floating on hype.
