Ragnarok Online Breaks Record In Taiwan
10.02.03 - 10:55 AM

The Korean-developed online RPG Ragnarok Online is making more aficionados around the globe, as shows this story: the number of users connected simultaneously has broken the 200,000 mark in Taiwan, where 205,000 users were connected on September 26th.

Ever since the beta testing opened on August 6th in Taiwan, there have been peaks where a new user was registered every 0.4 seconds, breaking a new record for the industry, and much to the surprise of the staff themselves. Currently there are 2,380,000 registered users in Taiwan, out of which 1,600,000 are paying the subscription fee. The free service will end on October 22nd. The company responsible for distributing Ragnarok Online in Taiwan, SoftWorld, has held an event to celebrate the 200,000 record.
