In interviews, Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura and Toshirou Tsuchida as well as Monolith Soft's Hirohide Sugiura commented on the status of their current projects. While the Front Mission mastermind mentioned that his latest creation Front Mission Online was already playable on the company's local area network and would feature visuals comparable to Front Mission 4's, Tetsuya Nomura was more cryptic in his comments. The director of Kingdom Hearts 2, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, mentioned that apart from those titles (all of which have been announced at last month's Tokyo Game Show) he still had another ace up his sleeve. However, he did not go into any specifics of just what project that might be.
Monolith Soft President Sugiura commented on his company's two current projects: Baten Kaitos: Owaranai Tsubasa to Ushinawareta Umi and Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Boese (Beyond Good and Evil). While the former was awaiting approval to be mastered up, Sugiura said he was sure the altered character designs of Episode II would be very popular in North America and Europe.
