Square Enix Expands European Operations

Square Enix Europe today announced a major expansion plan. In the course of this year, the number of employees working at the London, England-based subsidiary of Square Enix will be increased from 20 to 50. Furthermore, the company has hired former Atlus executive Jun Yamamoto to oversee the expansion drive in Europe in his new dual role as CEO and president. While Square Enix Europe has so far only acted as a localization studio, the company is eyeing to build up a marketing, sales and distribution network of its own. Previously Square Enix titles were published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Ubi Soft or Electronic Arts in the European market.
