05.19.04 - 3:20 AM

Japan's largest third party publisher, Konami has released its financial results for the fiscal year 2003/2004 today. Sales of 273.41 billion yen ($2.42 billion US) and an operating profit of 40.71 billion yen ($360.14 million US) made the previous term a record year for the company. Apart from the best-selling Pro Soccer Winning Eleven franchise, Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo's other major titles such as Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, Silent Hill 3 and Dance Dance Revolution performed well in the US and Europe. Konami Computer Entertainment Japan registered another year with worldwide sales of five million copies for the Yu-Gi-Oh franchise and Konami Computer Entertainment Osaka's baseball series Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball as well as the multiplatform new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game also met expectations. For the current fiscal year, Konami will have no shortage of major titles either, as Winning Eleven 8, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Suikoden IV, Silent Hill 4: The Room, Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim among others are all scheduled for a release within the current fiscal year.
