Might and Magic Creator Joins NCsoft

Jon Van Caneghem, creator of Might and Magic and founder of New World Computing has joined the Austin, Texas-based North American branch of NCsoft. There he will be united with Ultima creator Richard Gariott. Caneghem will assume the role of executive producer and is already working on a new online project. After founding New World Computing in 1983, he released his Apple II-based first Might and Magic title in 1987. Nine years later, he sold his company to 3DO. The Might and Magic RPG and strategy game series have sold a combined 20 million copies worldwide.

NCsoft has recently launched two highly anticipated online titles with Lineage II and City of Heroes, and is currently readying Guild Wars for its release later this year.
