World of Warcraft Beta Sees Addition of PvP Feature
06.17.04 - 8:53 PM

Blizzard Entertainment has announced a new patch for the beta of its highly anticipated MMORPG, World of Warcraft. After installing the new patch, players will be able to engage in player versus player (PvP) battles, siding with either of the game's two factions, known as Horde and Alliance. Races will also play an important role in PvP, as humans, dwarves, gnomes and night elves will be fighting alongside the Alliance, whereas orcs, trolls, tauren and undead will fight for the opposing Horde faction. In the beginning, only the most basic features will be available to players, allowing the development team to fine tune the system. A mini-map highlighting which faction holds a certain locations, will show users what to expect from a certain area. Green stands for friendly, yellow for disputed and red for enemy-held territory.
