NCsoft Releases First Lineage II Update

NCsoft has released the first major update for its popular MMORPG Lineage II since the game's April 28th US release. Titled Chronicle 1: Harbingers of War, it will feature new monsters, quests, skills and items, while adding castle sieges and drastically expanding the game's world. Each server will now feature five castles, which after being conquered can be held for two weeks. After two weeks, rival clans and alliances can prepare another siege. Such a siege can consist of hundreds of players and Siege Golems, huge creatures capable of tearing down a fortress' walls. Those who succeed in taking a castle can become its lord and in this position hire mercanaries, collect taxes and upgrade the castle's defenses in preparation for the next siege. Among the next quests is the Dragon's Cave quests, which culminate in a difficult battle against Antharas, the Earth Dragon. This quest and others are in particular geared towards higher level players.
