SOE Aims at Growing Asia Pacific Market

San Diego, California-based Sony Online Entertainment has inked a strategic cooperation agreement with Taiwanese online game developer and publisher Gamania Digital Entertainment. Under the agreement, the two companies will work together in releasing Sony Online Entertainment's upcoming MMORPG EverQuest II in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines. To that aim, a new subsidary, Taiwan-based Sony Online Entertainment Asia will be established. The cooperation between the two companies has the four major objectives of establishing a joint venture, working together on Asia Pacific product operations, transfering core technology and looking at potential investment in China.
