Newest tri-Ace Title Revealed

Square Enix has announced its newest PlayStation 2 project titled Radiata Stories in the most recent issue of Weekly Famitsu. The new game will be developed by the makers of Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile, tri-Ace. The title will feature a real-time battle system, featuring parties of four, who fight in a formation called "link". Depending on this formation it will possible to unleash powerful special skills. Once a yellow volt gauge is filled up, players will also be able to execute special moves. An impressive total of more than 150 playable characters will be available in Radiata Stories. These party members will be warriors, wizards, monk or thieves, while your opposition will consist of elves, goblins and other hostile creatures. Furthermore, tri-Ace is implementing a system under which time will effect the life of friends and foes alike. For instance, certain monsters may only be active during the day and sleep at night.Radiata Stories will be available in Japan sometime in early 2005.
