On the sixteenth of September 2004, Microsoft Game Studios, Lionhead Studios, and Big Blue Box released Fable, one of the most anticipated games for the Xbox. Announced way back in 2001 and in development shortly after the release of Black and White, Fable was supposed to be Molyneux's swan song, his best game since Populous. Characters were to grow and evolve over the course of the game. Your character could mark trees and see the grown-over markings years later. Did Molyneux and Big Blue Box succeed with their mission for a game that was delayed over two years for development time?
