Matrix Online To Miss January Release Date

Jason Hall, senior vice president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today that "The fact of the matter is [The Matrix Online] is not ready and we want to take a little more time." Originally slated for a January 18, 2005 release date, the date has slipped to simply "Spring 2005". Monolith and WBIE are taking this time to both continue work on the game and improve the community aspect of the game.

WBIE also entered into an agreement with DC Comics to produce a 'fanzine' on the ongoings of The Matrix Online. According to Hall, the fanzine is set to "completely focus on The Matrix Online, and more importantly, the users."

The Matrix Online is currently in beta phases and will be released on the PC platform, although pricing plans have not yet been set in stone.
