Konami Announces Re-integration of Three Subsidiaries

Konami announced the re-integration of its three publically traded subsidiaries Konami Computer Entertainment Japan, Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo and Konami Computer Entertainment Studios, effective April 1st 2005. A fourth, unlisted unit Konami Online will also be re-absorbed by its mother company at a later date. While analysts cautioned the move will have little impact in the short run, it will be positive for the company in the long run. Konami stated that the merger had become necessary in order to speed up the decision-making process and concentrate resources on the rapidly growing online game business.
