Shin Megami Tensei has never been a mainstream sort of game. With all of its roots in the occult, SMT is Jolt Cola to Final Fantasy's Pepsi. Despite the fact that the games are rooted in non-standard themes, SMT has generally been an excellent series, albeit an import one.With Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga, Atlus has introduced a title to America that combines the occultness of Shin Megami Tensei with a standard Japanese-styled RPG.
