Banpresto Post Stronger Than Expected Results

Bandai subsidiary Banpresto has announced its financial results for the fiscal year that ended on March 31st. Compared to the previous fiscal year 2003/2004, sales rose by 23.1% to reach 34.43 billion yen (325.98 million US), while net profit increased by an impressive 428.7% percent to 770 million yen (7.29 million US). Super Robot Taisen MX and Another Century's Episode for PlayStation 2 were particularly popular and posted strong sales in Japan. Furthermore, the PlayStation 2 version of Magna Carta proved to be a very successful title for the company.For the full fiscal year, Banpresto projects a net profit of 1.2 billion yen (11.36 million US) on sales of 36 billion yen (340.85 million US).
