Aquaplus Announces PSP Triple Threat
06.11.05 - 1:11 PM

Aquaplus today announced plans to release remakes of three adventure titles for PlayStation Portable. The three games are Routes, Kizuato and Comic Party.

Comic Party was originally released for the PC platform in May 1999. A Dreamcast version followed in August 2001. The game combines love adventure elements with the simulation of the creation of a fan magazine. The PlayStation Portable release will see a large increase in event scenes and allow for players to save those event scenes onto their Memory Sticks. Afterwards, the screenshots can be viewed directly on the handheld.

Comic Party Portable will be available in Japan this summer for 4,800 yen ($44.22 US). A first-print limited edition will go on sale for 5,980 yen ($55.09 US). It will ship with an UMD version of the OVA Comic Party Revolution's first volume.

Kizuato Portable is the PlayStation Portable version of the visual novel adventure Kizuato, which was originally released in 1996. A Windows 98/ME/2000/XP-compatible remake was released in 2002. The game takes place one month after the sudden death of the protagonist's father. The protagonist, who was living away from his parents' home, cancels a trip he had planned for quite some time and at the end of the summer vacation returns home. There his four female cousins are awaiting him. The four had lost their parents when they were still young and since then were supported by the protagonist's father. After a lengthy period of mourning, the smiles return to their faces. While all four are very nice towards the protagonist, their hearts are still deeply injured by a past accident. For the PlayStation Portable release, Aquaplus is remaking the game's character designs.

Kizuato Portable has yet to receive a release date.

Routes Portable will be a remake of the 2003 adventure title. Protagonist Souichi is a normal student, until a girl named Lisa appears in front of him in town. Afterwards, he finds himself in the middle of a mysterious incident. As an information collecting agent, it will be his job to solve this riddle.

The PlayStation Portable version will feature an anime opening, new characters and additional scenarioes not found in the PC release.

Routes Portable has yet to receive a release date.
