Sony Online Entertainment Acquires The Matrix Online

Sony Online Entertainment today announced that it has acquired The Matrix Online. The Monolith Productions-developed MMORPG was originally set to be co-published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Ubi Soft. Following Ubi Soft's withdrawal, Sega became the game's co-publisher.
Under the agreement announced today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment however did not only sell The Matrix Online to Sony Online Entertainment, but also granted the San Diego, California-based makers and publishers of EverQuest, the right to produce at least one game based on its DC Comics character library.The Matrix Online was released in the US on March 22nd.
