Hikaru Utada to Perform Kingdom Hearts II Main Theme
07.28.05 - 5:19 PM

Square Enix today confirmed that J-Pop star Hikaru Utada will perform "Passion", the main theme of its upcoming action RPG sequel Kingdom Hearts II for PlayStation 2. Series mastermind and director Tetsuya Nomura explained that lyrics of Utada's song will reflect Kingdom Hearts II's story. "Passion"'s first verse will reflect the game's beginning, while the last one will reflect the game's ending. Utada performed the main theme of the original Kingdom Hearts for PlayStation 2 in 2002.

Kingdom Hearts II will be available in Japan sometime this winter.
