Anarchy Online Gets New Advertising Customer

United International Pictures today announced that its plans to promote three upcoming science fiction movies through in-game advertisements placed in Funcom's popular MMORPG Anarchy Online. The three films are the movie adaption of id Soft's cult shooting game Doom, Aeon Flux, and Serenity, the feature film based on Joss Whedon's short-lived TV show Firefly. The promotion campaign on the Massive Network-operated in-game advertising network will begin as early as this week. Anarchy Online is offered for free by Funcom and is supported by advertising. Those who wish to play the game's three expansions, however, are required to upgrade to a pay-for-play system.
