02.17.06 - 5:53 PM

This week, Japan's leading gaming publication Weekly Famitsuu has again handed out several of its coveted platinum and gold awards. Sony Computer Entertainment's newest PlayStation Portable RPG, Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner received a platinum award from the magazine's four reviewers. The original game is the first title developed by Shin Megami Tensei mastermind Kouji Okada's development studio Gaia Games.

Gold awards went to Konami's Genso Suikoden V and Nippon Ichi Software's Makai Senki Disgaea 2 for PlayStation 2 as well as Nintendo's RPG sequel Baten Kaitos II: Hajimari no Tsubasa to Kamigami no Shishi for GameCube. All four games will go on sale in Japan next week, on February 23rd.
