To promote the upcoming release of Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria in Japan, Square Enix held the Valkyrie Festa 2006 in Tokyo yesterday. Fans not only had the chance to play the game, but they also had the chance to buy merchandise, get a first-hand look at costumes created exclusively for commercials, and listen to a talk show featuring the game's producer and voice acting cast. Curiously enough, Yumi Touma, the voice actress behind Valkyrie Profile Lenneth's protagonist Lenneth, was at hand as well. While producer Yoshinori Yamagishi joked that everything regarding Lenneth was still secret, his comments during the talk show indeed hint at the character's re-appearance in Silmeria.The second half of the event featured the previously announced live performance by Motoi Sakuraba. Together with two fellow musicians, the composer behind Valkyrie Profile, Star Ocean, and Baten Kaitos performed a total of 14 songs. Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria will be available in Japan on June 22nd for 7,800 yen ($69.84 USD) and in North America this September.
