Dirge of Cerberus Multiplayer Mode Gets the Axe

Square Enix today announced that the network mode of its PlayStation 2 gun RPG Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII will be shut down on September 29th in Japan. The PlayOnline-enabled multiplayer mode launched together with the game in December 2005. Square Enix will continue to provide updates for the online mode until fall, though. In addition to those updates, massive new maps and missions as well as new forms of versus battles will be added as well.Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII will be available in the US on August 22nd.
