NCSoft Announces Guild Wars Expansion, Sequel
03.31.07 - 4:01 PM

NCSoft and development studio ArenaNet recently announced Guild Wars: Eye of the North and Guild Wars 2. The former is the first full expansion pack to the original Guild Wars, which was released two years ago. Set in the lands of Tyria, the expansion will feature 18 large, multi-level dungeons, 150 new skills, ten new heroes, 40 new sets of armor, as well as new items, weapons and titles. NCSoft did not provide any details regarding Guild Wars 2, except that players won't have to pay any subscription fees to play the game.
Guild Wars: Eye of the North will go on sale during the 2007 holiday season. Guild Wars 2 has yet to receive an official release date, but the development team at ArenaNet is planning on holding a beta testing phase sometime during the second half of 2008.
