First Sakura Taisen DS Details Announced
09.06.07 - 6:17 PM

Sega revealed a batch of details today regarding the debut of Sakura Taisen on DS. Development of Sakura Taisen: Kimi aru ga tame is already 70% complete. The game will feature all 18 heroines from the first Sakura Taisen to Sakura Taisen V. While the adventure part, including the good old LIPS system, will make its return in this game, the developers chose to alter the battle system. Instead of fighting strategy battles in their mechs, the girls and Ichirou Oogami will this time take on an ever-changing dungeon and fight without their mechs. Apart from Oogami, fan favorites Yoneda and Ayame will also celebrate their comeback on the DS. Before entering the dungeon, players will be able to select their active party members of choice. System-wise, players can look forward to strategy RPG battles reminiscent of previous installments complete with deathblows and cooperation attacks, just without mechs.

Sakura Taisen: Kimi aru ga tame will be available in Japan in spring 2008.
