Banpresto Becomes Part of Bandai Namco Games

Bandai Namco Holdings today announced that the game development division of Banpresto will be transferred and subsequently integrated into Bandai Namco Games, effective April 1st 2008. Under this new structure, know-how and resources related to development and distribution of games could be used more effectively. Speeding up management decisions is another goal of the re-organization. Henceforth Banpresto will focus on aspects of the arcade game business. Meanwhile, two subsidiaries of Banpresto in charge of amusement facility management will become subsidiaries of Namco.Banpresto is best known for its flagship Super Robot Taisen series. Recently, the company has worked with Gust on Ar tonelico and Ar tonelico II for PlayStation 2. Since 2006, Banpresto has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings.
