Interview with Darumaya
04.15.08 - 3:11 PM

Kyoko Kishikawa has used her unique scat-style vocal performances in a number of games, including many RPGs. RPG fans may recall the memorable battle theme from Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song entitled "Passionate Rhythm." Kishikawa has also worked with Kenji Ito, Yasunori Mitsuda, and Yoshitaka Hirota on a number of game soundtracks.

Kishikawa and a number of instrumentalists, including aforementioned composer Hirota, have joined together to form the band "Darumaya." As a band, they've recorded many unique arrangements for videogame music, and are featured in the recently-released album "Hyper Game Music 2007 Live Album Vol. 1." (Vol. 2 will be released shortly thereafter).

We recently had the opportunity, thanks to contributor Jeriaska, to speak with Kishikawa and the other members of Darumaya. Click below to read the full interview.
