Square Enix Releases New RPG... for the iPod
07.07.08 - 9:35 PM

Square Enix announced today the release of Song Summoner: The Unsung Hero for Apple's iPod nano with video, iPod Classic, and the fifth generation iPod. Playable in both English and Japanese, Song Summoner places players in control of "tune troopers" created from the songs on their iPod. The game features a tactics-style battle system and takes place in the land of Melodica, a land of music which has recently been besieged by the Mechanoids, evil, heartless beings who added machinery to their own bodies.

Song Summoner is available now for $4.99 at the iTunes Store (link will open in iTunes).

UPDATE: We've added a small gallery for Song Summoner below, marking the first iPod/iPhone title in our realm of coverage.
