Square Enix Withdraws Tecmo Take-Over Bid

Square Enix today officially announced its decision to withdraw its friendly take-over bid (TOB) for rival third party publisher Tecmo. Since the makers of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden chose to reject Square Enix's request for the disclosure of more detailed information concerning Tecmo's ongoing negotiations with Koei over a business tie-up, Square Enix's management team had been unable to present a new, improved offer to Tecmo's shareholders and decided to withdraw its offer.
