Square Enix Downloadables: FFIV After Years, FFVII Released
On WiiWare and PSN, respectively.
06.03.09 - 2:42 AM

In case you were living under a rock, you'll want to know the following bits of information.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years was released on WiiWare on June 1st. The direct sequel features Cecil, Rosa, their love child (Ceodore), and other "new generation" characters. Originally released on mobile phones in Japan, this game is being released as "episodic content." The initial release costs 1500 Wii points, and subsequent episodes will cost 300 Wii points each, with all episodes planned for American release by September of this year. Expect a review from us, soon.

Final Fantasy VII hit PlayStation Network for only ten dollars earlier today. The surprise release doesn't feature any changes from the original: it's a direct port. But it's a good sign that Square Enix is finally committing to bringing more classic PSOne titles to the PlayStation Network service in North America.
