As reported last week, Square Enix has shipped 1.8 million copies of Final Fantasy XIII to Japanese retailers. A second shipment might be in order rather sooner than later, though, because 1.51 million copies had already been sold by December 20th, according to estimates by Famitsu's parent company Enterbrain.

Final Fantasy XIII will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the US on March 9th. Until then, check out our recently updated coverage of the most anticipated Japanese RPG to hit both platforms to date.
