The Tales series has a huge following across both the casual and hardcore RPGFans. When Namco Bandai decided to create a sequel to the GameCube Classic Tales of Symphonia, both of those types of gamers probably expected a little more than they got. Case in point: we passed this game around to at least four reviewers over the span of 18 months, and none of them could muster the courage to play through it - until one brave soul took on the crusade.
