Final Fantasy Legends: Warriors of Light and Darkness Announced
A brand new FF spin-off to be released on mobile phones.
07.21.10 - 11:19 PM

Square Enix has officially announced their latest project, Final Fantasy Legends: Warriors of Light and Darkness. This new title is being developed by the Final Fantasy IV: The After Years team, and will appear on the iMode and EZweb mobile phone platforms later this year.

Like many of its 16-bit brethren, Final Fantasy Legends will feature 2D visuals, a job system, and the expected crystal motif. Square Enix has stated that the game's episodes will be released in such a way that will put a focus on individual jobs.

The game will be available on the Final Fantasy Mobile game portal beginning in September for iMode users, with an EZweb release to follow later this winter. The prologue will be free, while additional chapters will be priced between 315 ($3.60 US) and 525 ($6.01 US). No North American release has been announced at this time.
