Date Set for Free-to-Play Lord of the Rings Online

At the beginning of the summer, Turbine announced that Lord of the Rings Online, like Dungeons & Dragons Online before it, would adopt a free-to-play model some time this fall. Now, as we near the end of the summer, Turbine has revealed a more specific date for this new chapter in their popular MMORPG.

Come September 10th, players will be able to access the entire base game for free. Expansions, character slots, extra bags, and a wide variety of game items will be available via the new in-game store, also launching on September 10th.
