Benyamin Nuss Plays Uematsu (CD Review)
Don't judge this album by its cover. In fact, just try not to look at the cover.
09.17.10 - 6:15 PM

This has got to be one of the coolest CD releases ever.

This young prodigy pianist named Benyamin Nuss somehow managed to work a deal with Nobuo Uematsu that would allow Nuss to record and perform Uematsu's music, from Final Fantasy and other titles.

Nuss is taking his skills on a tour of Germany, which is happening presently. Furthermore, he released an album, "Benyamin Nuss Plays Uematsu," which was released in Germany today.

It has what is probably the worst cover art conceivable. You will laugh and cry simultaneously. I rarely use the word, but I'm going to go ahead and ascribe the made-up adjective "fugly" to this one.

Get past the cover art, and you'll find some amazing piano arrangements. Review below.

Note also that today is the release of Symphonic Fantasies in Europe (which, I should note, also features Nuss on piano -- though in a much less prominent way).

More soundtrack updates coming soon!
