Valkyria Chronicles 3 Character Info, Gallery Added
Well, they're not entirely Nameless.
10.12.10 - 3:22 AM

SEGA's strategy RPG Valkyria Chronicles 3 was just announced at Tokyo Game Show nearly a month ago, but the character details at the time were pretty scant. They've since then released some more info and media, so here's what we've got so far of the former.

You might recall that the game takes place at the same time as the original Valkyria Chronicles, in 1935. The story begins in Gallia, the nation caught in the crossfire of the Imperial and the Federation. Squad 422 is known as the Nameless, since each unit is really just called by their number, and some of the main characters are as follows:

Kurt Irving (number 24) - The main character, an officer who was tops in his military academy, but seems to have wronged the military somehow and is now trying to redeem himself to them.

Riela Marcellis (number 13) - The Valkyria descendant, although she's not aware of her ancestry right away. When her previous squad was destroyed and she was the lone survivor, she was called a 'god of death' and shipped off to the Nameless, where she befriends Kurt right away.

Imca (number 1) - Had her village was destroyed by Valkyries and so she is now out for revenge with a giant weapon on hand even if it means ignoring superiors' orders.

Ramsey Kurou - Described as a more minor character than the above three, he runs the Nameless squad. He is very fond of women and booze, but is still a great tactician.

Of course, with every RPG you get a group of villains, and Valkyria Chronicles 3's main enemy squad is known as Calamity Raven. Their leader is Dahau, who hopes to part ways from the Darcsen (a race responsible for the Darcsen Calamity). Lydia Agute is his aide, although she doesn't appear to be one bit loyal to him. Lastly, the younger Darcsen boy in the squad, Zig, looks up to Dahau (and wields a really neat sword).

We have also added some screenshots and artwork, both viewable below. As well, a trailer of the game will also be shipping with the Valkyria Chronicles 2 Best (budget) version in Japan on December 9th. Valkyria Chronicles 3 itself will be out in Japan on January 27th, 2011 for the PlayStation Portable.
