Square Enix Is Planning A.... Christmas Album?

When it comes to video game music, we've had original soundtracks, orchestral arranged albums, piano collections albums, acoustic albums, live performances and all kinds of fan mixes. What else could you do with VGM? If you're Square Enix, you make a Christmas album!

You read that right. Square Enix is planning a seven-track album of holiday remixes of some of its game music, including songs from Legend of Mana, SaGa Frontier 2, Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy VII. Here's a sample of one of these remixes, Chrono Trigger's Wind Scene:

X'mas Collections from Square Enix will be out in Japan on November 24th for 1600 yen ($19.70 US).
