According to Dengeki Playstation, one of
Disgaea 4's new features is a "punishment system", which players can use to abuse their monsters for an unknown purpose. In addition, players can utilize the "government system" to take control of parts of the Netherworld, facilitating the construction of new structures and characters. Two new story characters were also revealed: Emziel, the arrogant son of the Netherworld's president, and Volcano, the pink-haired "Angel of Business" who handles financial affairs.
Some images have also surfaced of the game's box art and some promotional phone cards (see below) for customers who pre-order in Japan.
Disgaea 4 for the Playstation 3 is scheduled to release on February 21, 2011 in Japan, with a North American release to follow in the summer.
